Summary
This article explains how to configure PVAMU’s official Microsoft 365 Outlook email account on iPhone and Android devices. Following the mailbox migration, mobile devices must be updated with the correct Microsoft 365 server settings to restore access.
Problem
After mailbox migration to Microsoft 365, users may be unable to send or receive PVAMU email on their mobile devices. This is commonly caused by outdated server settings, cached login details, or missing “@pvamu.edu” in the username. Users must update their account configuration to ensure uninterrupted access.
Solution
Update your mobile device email settings to connect with Microsoft 365 servers. Ensure your username is your full PVAMU email address and that the server is set to outlook.office365.com.
Steps
iPhone (Mail App)

Open Settings > Mail > Accounts.

Select your PVAMU email account.

Update the following fields:

Username: Enter your full email (example: jsmith@pvamu.edu).

Domain: Leave blank.

Server: Confirm it says outlook.office365.com
.

Email Address: Must match your PVAMU email.

Tap Done. Look for green checkmarks confirming setup.

Open the Mail app and confirm syncing begins.

If issues persist, delete the account and re-add it using the Exchange option.
Android (Gmail App)

Open the Gmail app.

Go to Settings and select your PVAMU email account.

Scroll down to Server settings > Incoming settings.

Verify or update the following:

Tap Done. Enter your password again if prompted.

Confirm syncing begins.
