Service: VPN allows you to connect to PVAMU resources securely from home or any other remote connection. PVAMU will be utilizing the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client to connect to PVAMU resources.
Who: The VPN service is available to all regular, full-time PVAMU faculty or staff employees who have a valid PVAMU Domain AD User Account. The VPN services are also available for authorized contractors. If you currently have access to a VPN but have never submitted a VPN request to the Office of Information Resource Management, you will be required to submit the VPN form.
How: Faculty and staff can request remote access to the PVAMU network by submitting a Remote Access/VPN Request to informationsecurity@pvamu.edu. A letter of justification is required with the request, addressing what resources will be accessed via VPN. Requests for resources that can be accessed without VPN will be denied. If you are requesting VPN access to view data stored on your desktop or a shared drive, please get in touch with our office and ask about Microsoft OneDrive, a cloud-based storage service used to access data from any location.
