Intended Audience: Students, Faculty, and Staff
Summary
Zoom is Prairie View A&M University’s integrated web-based conferencing platform that supports high-quality video and audio. It works on MacOS, Windows, iOS, and Android devices, and it also provides dial-in options for phone-based audio conferencing. On campus, Zoom can connect to Smart Labs equipped with Polycom, Tandberg, LifeSize, and similar devices. This page provides essential information to help students, faculty, and staff access and use Zoom effectively at PVAMU.
Problem
Students and faculty often need to participate in classes, meetings, or office hours from different locations. For example, a student may have to join a lecture while away from campus, or a faculty member may need to host a meeting with participants both in person and online. Without a reliable, integrated platform, these interactions would be difficult and could disrupt communication.
Solution
Zoom at PVAMU provides a secure and flexible way to connect in real time. By logging in with PVAMU credentials, users can access licensed features for hosting, joining, and managing meetings. Whether joining from a computer, mobile device, phone line, or a Smart Lab, Zoom ensures a consistent experience across the Panther community.
Steps
Follow these steps to access and begin using Zoom at PVAMU:
-
Log in to Zoom at PVAMU
Go to the PVAMU Zoom Portal and sign in using your PVAMU email and password. This ensures you have access to the university’s licensed features.
