Files and documents are recorded digitally and saved in a storage system for future use. Data storage makes it easy to back up files for safekeeping and quick recovery in the event of an unexpected computing crash or cyberattack.

Records Management

Records Management is the process of managing the records of an organization through it’s life-cycle. This involves classifying, storing, securing, retrieving and the destruction of records whether it’s in a paper or electronic format. Any record, regardless of medium, created by an office or an employee using university resources in the normal course of university business is a state record and must be managed in accordance with state and system regulations.

Panther Tracks

PantherTracks allows Faculty and Advisors access to perform certain functions such as viewing and entering student grades and performing degree assessments to better advise students. It also allows faculty to view their class schedules and enrollment.

Microsoft OneDrive is the cloud storage and file sharing service that keeps all your files in one location, which can be accessed from anywhere and any device, similar to Syncplicity.

ProofPoint Encryption and Data Loss Prevention

Proofpoint is an email filtering system designed to protect users from phishing attempts and malware attacks. Proofpoint also provides Data Loss Prevention by quarantining emails send with confidential information (social security number, credit card numbers, etc) outside of PVAMU network.

Shared Drive

Faculty and Staff may utilize shared network drives to share information between, Faculty, and Staff. In addition to sharing capabilities, these drives are backed up every night to ensure data continuity. Any important information or class assignments should be saved to a shared drive to protect from computer hardware failures

Syncplicity

Syncplicity uses a web interface to sync your files and share them securely with others. When you sync your files and folders, it will do so across all the devices you have registered to your Syncplicity account. If you share those same files with others, it allows them access to view, edit or delete based on the permissions you give them. When you share folders with others, it allows them to perform the previous functions and also to create new files for sharing, again based on the permissions
